The Supernova of 1054 Part IIII

Our “incredible journey” has so far taken us through three parts on the subject of the Supernova of 1054. The nova appeared in the sky of 1054 during a Church schism. A large Native American response occurred where the event was recorded. Settlements were abandoned. A peacemaker appears in 1142 and makes some adjustments to Native American society which appear to be similar if not the inspiration for certain parts of the US Constitution. Philadelphia convenes on, of all days, July 4, 1776, which is 722 years to the date from the original Supernova, and America as a country is born.

While we have to speculate what happened in the interim to the Native American communities in the 1000-1700 portion, we don’t in the latter half of that era since our recorded history picks the narrative up where a large portion of the Native Americas are concerned. An abbreviated version of the story follows where Tecumseh, a Shawnee, is concerned:

To recap, Tecumseh was told by the Great Spirit that a huge Earthquake was going to occur, and the Natives needed to stop adopting the ways of the “white men” and return to their former ways of harmony. They did not do this, and the Great Spirit agreed to give a sign to the “white men” who were skeptical. They were still skeptical after this sign, since the narrative notes that some believe he saw the date in a Farmer’s Almanac. Of course, that doesn’t explain how it was Tecumseh predicted an Earthquake successfully.

The earthquakes that resulted were the 1811-1812 New Madrid quakes:

On February 7, 1812, the most violent of a series of earthquakes near Missouri causes a so-called fluvial tsunami in the Mississippi River, actually making the river run backward for several hours. The series of tremors, which took place between December 1811 and March 1812, were the most powerful in the history of the United States.

The unusual seismic activity began at about 2 a.m. on December 16, 1811, when a strong tremor rocked the New Madrid region. The city of New Madrid, located near the Mississippi River in present-day Missouri, had about 1,000 residents at the time, mostly farmers, hunters and fur trappers. At 7:15 a.m., an even more powerful quake erupted, now estimated to have had a magnitude of 8.6. This tremor literally knocked people off their feet and many people experienced nausea from the extensive rolling of the earth. Given that the area was sparsely populated and there weren’t many multi-story structures, the death toll was relatively low. However, the quake did cause landslides that destroyed several communities, including Little Prairie, Missouri.

When the New Madrid earthquakes rattled the Midwest in 1811 and 1812, William Clark, of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, convinced the government to step in.

The earthquake also caused fissures—some as much as several hundred feet long—to open on the earth’s surface. Large trees were snapped in two. Sulfur leaked out from underground pockets and river banks vanished, flooding thousands of acres of forests. On January 23, 1812, an estimated 8.4-magnitude quake struck in nearly the same location, causing disastrous effects. Reportedly, the president’s wife, Dolley Madison, was awoken by the tremor in Washington, D.C. Fortunately, the death toll was smaller, as most of the survivors of the first earthquake were now living in tents, in which they could not be crushed.

The strongest of the tremors followed on February 7. This one was estimated at an amazing 8.8-magnitude, a reading that ranks among the strongest quakes in human history. Church bells rang in Boston, thousands of miles away, from the shaking. Brick walls were toppled in Cincinnati. In the Mississippi River, water turned brown and whirlpools developed suddenly from the depressions created in the riverbed. Waterfalls were created in an instant; in one report, 30 boats were helplessly thrown over falls, killing the people on board. Many of the small islands in the middle of the river, often used as bases by river pirates, permanently disappeared. Large lakes, such as Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee and Big Lake at the Arkansas-Missouri border, were created by the earthquake as river water poured into new depressions.

This series of large earthquakes ended in March, although there were aftershocks for a few more years. In all, it is believed that approximately 1,000 people died because of the earthquakes, though an accurate count is difficult to determine because of a lack of an accurate record of the Native American population in the area at the time.

Clearly, when the Natives refused to return to their former ways, that was the end for their civilization since their agreements with the Great Spirit were broken.

One other place of interest that was made as a result of this tremendous, destructive earthquake can be found in the tiny town of Cerulean Springs, KY, where the 2017 solar eclipse passed through. This natural spring is said to be filled with Sulfur and Copper which causes the bluish hue of the water. Sulfur, it will be remembered, was what Sodom and Gomorrah experienced as a punishment from God.

When examined from this long view of history, we find that the Supernova of 1054 continued to be active across all the Native American communities up until the Death of Tecumseh which marked perhaps the final “transgression” in the series. Wounded knee happened another 80 or so years later, and marked perhaps the absolute final resolution to the event that was foreshadowed by the Supernova in terms of the Native Americans. Those that would replace them as stewards of the land, though, well, their story might well be picking up where the Natives left off with the 2017 Solar Eclipse sweeping across the areas that were irrevocably changed by what happened before. If history is any guide, if people fail to turn back to their spiritual agreements, nothing good comes from breaking those. Indeed, when the Maji came to visit the Messiah, it was a renewing a Covenant that they were witnessing–or the restoration of the spirit to the people. For that, they brought gifts, and gave honor and were guided by a star.
